There have been many festivals in Botkyrka. From Lolipop, which was organized at Lida Friluftsg\u00e5rd, to the annual family festival at Fittja \u00e4ng. Subtopia also has a solid festival register. Some we have had the main responsibility for and others we have rented our area to. So after digging through our photo archives and talking to people who have been there, we present them in chronological order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sub\u00f6rb (2003 and 2005)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Tilde Bj\u00f6rfors is the founder and artistic director of Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r. Her best memory from all her years in Botkyrka Municipality is the Sub\u00f6rb festival:

\u2013 With Sub\u00f6rb, we wanted to put Sweden on the world\u2019s new circus map. You could see the best and try it for yourself. We had concerts, street dance and a skate park, but the circus was the main attraction.

Sub\u00f6rb was organized by Cirkus Cirk\u00f6r and Botkyrka Municipality twice. The Canadian circus company The 7 Fingers came to Sweden for the first time at Sub\u00f6rb and Laleh had one of their first gigs. Tilde says that the collaboration with Botkyrka was important:

\u2013 We were very pro-Botkyrka! We wanted everyone who came to get a different image of Botkyrka than the one in the newspaper at the time. And the entire municipal administration was involved. The street and park administration hung red barrels in the trees as landmarks.

But it was also a lot of hard work and the weather was not always on their side. Like when the rain poured down and everyone had to dig ditches to keep the technology from getting destroyed. But it was worth it and to this day Tilde is very proud of what they achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
