Lekquiem is a celebration of life through movement and music with nearly 200 people on stage! 100 children from primary and middle schools in Botkyrka, 60 choir singers from Stockholm’s music high school, 4 dancers and the Västerås Sinfonietta create a magnificent performance of Mozart’s Requiem under the direction of Charlotte Engelkes and Christian Karlsen.
Artist and director Charlotte Engelkes and conductor Christian Karlsen’s idea is for children to meet and express themselves through symphonic music. During five school weeks, dancers and children meet and together they create one big dance concert. The focus is letting the children’s own thoughts about life and death be told to Mozart’s famous piece of music from 1791.
