Learn to create parts for your cosplay outfit
Looking for something fun to do during the Easter holiday? Learn how to create cosplay outfits a free Easter holiday course provided by Subtopia’s youth section Do It Together (D.I.T.) and Botkyrka kommun. A fun experience learning a lot of new skills together with our wonderful coaches.
Learn to visualize what you want to create, and then how to go from sketch to physical product. The more detailed the sketch, the easier the creation. Decide what materials different parts will be made from, and then develop templates for what you want to create. We will work with EVA Foam (see more below) but also recycled material to see how you can redo old garments. It is free to bring your own material from home.
The course coach is Ellen Segergren, costume designer and clothing designer specializing in stage clothes. Check out Ellen’s Facebook page to see more of her creations.
Cosplay with EVA Foam
EVA FOAM (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is a lightweight thermoplastic – a material you can heat up to manipulate its shape – and it is available in several different colors and thicknesses. The thinner versions are used for smaller details, and the thicker ones for larger parts such as bases for chest or leg armor, weapons, etc.
This course is free of charge and for children and young people 12-16 years. The deadline to register is April 4. In collaboration with Botkyrka kommun.
